Article 19 of Law 3421/05 “Conscription of Greeks and other provisions” (Government Gazette 302 A) as currently in force.Decision by the Deputy Minister of National Defense F.429.1/5/150045/S.11/4-1-2006 “Regulation of certain conscription matters” (Government Gazette 34B).
Prerequisites
- The applicant must be legally outside the armed forces.
- Must hold a doctoral degree.
- Must excel in scientific works or research.
- The postponement cannot exceed December 31st of the year in which the applicant turns 33 years old. For the calculation of age, the applicant’s date of birth is considered to be January 1st of the year they were registered in the civil registry.
Required Documentation
- Application.
- Copy of the doctoral diploma.
- Certifications or attestations from the human resources department or the secretariat of the respective educational scientific institution, indicating the position held by the applicant, the duration of employment, performance in scientific works or research, and the impact of these works in international research and scientific circles. For applicants abroad, these certifications or attestations can be issued by the competent Greek Consular Authority.
- A list indicating references from other researchers or scientists to the applicant’s published work.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Any other supporting evidence related to the performance in scientific works or research.
Submission Deadline
The documents must be submitted by the date the applicant is required to enlist in the Armed Forces due to the expiration or termination of their lawful stay outside the military.
